Realization

so i'm starting to come to the realization that i'm going to be spending Valentines Day alone. Wow, this is going to hurt, and feel really weird at the same time. I never realized how much time i put into every Feb 14th, gosh, every year i tried so hard to do something new, and i spent sooo much money. I guess i can use my V day money, and my anniversary money (march 5th) to buy coachella tickets. Because every year i usually set aside around $500 to $600. And this year i got dumped, so free money! But i feel i should give SOMEONE flowers. Does anyone know anyone that wants flowers? Preferably a girl, haha. Maybe i'll just send some to my mom...
With the next couple of months, usually being so important to my past relationship, i have an extreme amount of anger and frustration built up inside of me, and i don't get to let it out teaching martial arts. Sooo, i've decided to take savate classes. For those of you who don't know what savate is, its french kickboxing. Think of boxing, as you wear gloves, but you use your feet mostly, and violently. Its been called one of the most violent forms of martial arts, but the minute i saw someone do it, i fell in love, and plus its perfect training for my 4th degree black belt test later this year. So i'm excited, i'm also doing a lot of weight training, so i will be in very very good shape for summer vacation this year. So next time you see me and if i have a black eye or i can barely walk, don't think much of it, i know what i'm doing...haha.
Ok so tonight, i am posting music by the remix company or RAC. Of any spectacular remix artists i have heard in the past year, i don't like any nearly as much as i like these guys. I must have given my first remix album to 30 people, well all of you that have it may remember a Tegan and Sara remix i had on there. The one i am posting tonight IS NOT that remix. This remix is soooo much better, seriously. Very well done. The next is a Who song, "Baba O Riley," i dont consider myself a big Who fan, but this song is so much fun! and a classic might i add. And last is one of my favorite new bands, Ra Ra Riot, and perhaps the best song on their album, "Each Year." It's greattttt. Ok, i should be studying, have a good night everyone.

I'm Home...

haha so after over a month of having that survey up at the top of my page, i totally just realized that it says "Best albums of 2006." Haaaa omg i never realized it should've said 2007, come to think of it, at school i don't even know if i've been writing 2008 on everything... uh oh.
So i'm back from Pismo Beach, and must i say, absolutely beautiful. It's amazing how a few little towns down there seem undiscovered by the world, where you can buy a brand new house on the beach for 500,000? Unbelievable, when i make my first million, i know where i'm going. I went during the perfectttt time though, it was Elephant seal mating season, so i watched honestly a thousand seals either giving birth, or in a giant seal orgy. I have xxx pictures on my phone, but i don't have a digital otherwise i'd post them in a slideshow with boogie nights music haha. And it was also monarch butterfly mating season, jesus i went at the right time.
I NEVER realized how absolutely simple the ride to Santa Barbara was, that is nothing, its strange, i wasn't even tired when i got there, but try driving past sb into the middle of nowhere for another couple hours. Thats frustrating.
So i'm back, i'm practicing guitar and ready to start working finallyyyy.
Ok, so today, i'm posting 2 songs, the first is to commemorate the 10th anniversary of perhaps the greatest album of the 90's, "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea," by the fabulously now non existent Neutral Milk Hotel. This cover sounds amazingly similar to the original, now must i say this song has been done and redone too many times to count, but this is honestly the only good cover i have heard, representing how difficult it is to ever cover Jeff Mangum's vocal talent.
And the other is by DFA (ie LCD's James Murphy's) members Hercules & Love Affair. I have heard most of this album, and i must say, very, very impressive. This particular song "Blind" is incredible because it features guest vocals from none other then my true love, Antony (Antony and the Johnsons) This song showcases his vocals brilliantly, and makes me want to see Antony strip his piano and leave it for the dj set. Have a good sunday, i know i'm going to be spending it either playing guitar or studying for my stupid bio middy on mon. Good night.

One More Time...

I hope all of you did two things today. You voted (cough Obama cough) and you picked up Hot Chip's spectacular new album (or got it from me haha). Overall, i'm somewhat satisfied with this so called "Super Tuesday." Obama did better in California then anyone thought, and he definitely has the momentum leading into the other primaries in the following weeks and even months. The only disappointment was he somehow lost Massachusetts, even though he had Kennedy and Kerry in his corner... Ok so its a big week for me. I have two midterms tomorrow, and then right after class i make the good ol' 4 hour drive to Pismo Beach. I actually miss driving up north, like to Santa Barbara and stuff...There is something about driving past the ocean that is just simply beautiful and does it for me (ohh). And on the way back, i'm stopping in Santa Barbara, and i'm going to get some great pizza, and hang out with some people i haven't seen in awhile...This is just what i need right now, to get away from everything, and to get things off my mind...one thing in particular...So i'll be back Saturday night with a new post...soooo yeahhh don't miss me too much.
So tonight, i'm back to posting a little bit faster music, with one nice slow song. The first song is an amazing cover i found a long time ago, but i figure since i'm posting another bloc party song i might as well post this one. It's a synth cover of "Like Eating Glass", very nicely done. The next is a song from the less then desirable "Weekend in the City," called "Sunday," which is live and acoustic, nicely done Kele.
Anddddd last is a song i've known forever, but recently i discovered their albums again when i heard of their new album coming out soon. So here is the spectacular single, "one more time" by the french kicks.
Have a great weekend, tell someone you love them today, ok?
p.s. i started taking guitar lessons again! Because my last gf left me for someone who played well, and i'm not going to let that happen again! I'm actually a quick learner, i already learned a couple songs in one day...

Something Makes Me Feel Like You're Going To Be My Girl...

So is it weird that every single night since Last Thursday, i have woken up repeatedly in the middle of the night (or in my case, the morning) in a cold sweat because i was dreaming about my ex girlfriend? Jesus, its annoying, because i always reach next to me, and she's not there...it sucks...Everyone says, let go kenny, but i can't. Even after all thats gone on...Its strange, yesterday i was fine, but today i woke up missing her sooo much again. I just wish i could see her face, despite how much i have been hurt...
Ok, so enough about my depressing former love life that i still loathe for...today i pretty much found the most adorable song i have ever heard, its by Japanese singer, pwrfl power, who a few years ago moved to seattle, and started adoring folk music. I'm serious, this song is sooooo amazing and just puts a smile on your face, and makes me want to sing this to you know who.
And the other is also amazing, and another Elliott Smith cover, but this time of one of my favorite John Lennon songs, "Jealous Guy." Which also describes my former relationship haha.
i know i said i was done posting slow music, but for me right now it is just the best, and makes me happy...and in my sad times right now, its what i need.

We Could Be Heroes...Just For One Day...

i can't even explain how pissed i am the giants won the super bowl. Jesus, thank God i didn't put any money on that game...
Funny how i thought everything was getting better by week but this week was the worst yet..but i'm okay because i know it can't possibly get worse then this haha. But i'm living my life, and thats pretty much all i can do...i have amazing grades and my family and 2 friends are here for support haha. Ahh i'm happy, i bought some songs online for rock band, like wonderwall! aww...although that song should make me sad, all it does is makes me happy, because memories are never bad. Not to mention i have my favorite bowie song, which i fell in love with yet again, and have decided to include here for you...except this version is live, and sounds wonderful.
And then two other downloads from guess who! radiohead....one is a acoustic version of "Reckoner" from In Rainbows, and the other is my favorite radiohead song EVER paranoid android, of course live and acoustic as well.
i hate you eli...and have a good week everybody! AHH!! midterms!!

Yesterday...All My Troubles Seemed So Far Away...

so i got on a scale for the first time today...15 lbs!! jesus i can't believe that...a little over 2 weeks and i lose 15 lbs....thats insane...i tried on jeans yesterday...and i wear 3 sizes smaller...you all should try it..it's called the broken heart diet. Ok so as i was driving home tonight, i heard this song, of course all of you know it, but the lyrics couldn't describe my life more perfectly. So here is the classic beatles song yesterday, with the beautiful blackbird as an intro from the "love" album. Sorry its m4a for some reason, but if you don't have it, please listen, and if you know my situation, my life is described perfectly from those short, miniscule amount of words. And then i have a live cover of blackbird by none other then elliott smith. So as morrissey would say..."sing me to sleep."
